Hi from Idaho
Hi I'm John and I've been shaving with a straight for about 2 weeks now. Before I got my Dovo Bismark I was using a Dovo shavette for about 6 months so the learning curve has not been too horrible for me. I am getting a smooth shave except for under my chin. I'll keep practicing and reading.

I think a meet and greet would be great... Sandpoint is not that far from me either. It would be nice to show my wife there are other straight razor users out there...lol Keep me posted when the next one is, I really would love to go.

Hi John
Welcome to SRP. If you have been tooling around the site you already know that this is a great community.

Specky my bismark is a 6/8 red and so far I am loving it. Jeff, yes it is all its "cut" out to be. My shavette I was good at but already I have a better shave except for under the chin but I will get that in time.

Welcome John. I've been at it for two weeks myself. Today was the first day I did a decent job on my chin--but then the whole shave took almost an hour and about 5 or 6 re-lathers--oh well, it seems to get a little better each week as I am finally getting used to handling the straight razor. It sounds like you are well ahead of most of us newbies--keep up the battle.
