Are you sure that this blade actually has silver in it? There is something called "silver steel" that doesn't usually actually have silver in it.

There were some older models (1800s) that I think had silver in the alloy but the performance wasn't that good and the concept was dropped. Generally silver is best left for ornamental use... it's generally not used for making quality cutting instruments no more than you'd want a knife made of gold.
