Shave ready reality check
Hello all,
Until this morning my straight razor experience has been one of perserverance coupled with uncertainty. I had an Edwin Jagger 5/8 which I purchased new as shave ready and knowing that it wasn't really, I also bought a Belgian whetstone. Well I was getting a reasonable shave from this although I felt that something wasn't quite right. Today however I received a Dovo Best Quality from "the invisible edge" and having just shaved with it have been blown away. Undoubtedly the best shave that I have ever had (straight or otherwise), shaving time reduced, no nicks or irritation, just a finish so smooth that it feels like I will never have to shave again. Alright the last claim is probably overboard, but a fabulous shave none the less. So a big thank you to Mr Steve Dempster at the invisible edge, for now I know the reality of shave ready.
Happy days! Ryan

The Dovo Best Quality razors do give great shaves. And for a new razor offer great value as well.

Gotta love those "oh yeah!" moments. A fresh edge on a good blade really makes the day.

I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same thing when I bought an old, ugly geneva cutelery co. razor. I just couldn't beleive the difference from what I was used to.
It's a great feeling when you finally experience the great shave that you were after. You understand what all the hype around straight razors is about.
Cheers !

Thanked: 190A properly honed and shave ready razor gives an awesome shave. I had resisteded honing one of my razors for about 70 shaves and I just used my pasted strop to keep it sharp. It still gave good shaves, but it took a lot of technique to avoid small weepers in getting a BBS shave. Lately, I could always count on 1 or 2 small weepers for each shave with that razor.
I finally gave in, honed it, and it shaved like a dream without any threat of a weeper.
Recently, I used a Mach 3 after not touching one for 2 years. It just couldn't get that close of a shave like a straight razor. So I cleaned up the shave with the straight razor and laughed at how when I first started out, I used the Mach 3 to clean up my straight razor shave and here I am using a straight razor to clean up the Mach 3 shave.
Glad to hear your new razor got you a great shave. Many, Many more to come....
