Cool First Shave with SR and....

    ...it was a success.

    The Short:
No blood, no whiskers, fun was had.

    The long:
    Brush: Col. Conk pure bristle
    Soap: SRD Vanilla Bourbon
    Razor: Dovo “Prima Klang”
After-shave: American Crew “Post-shave Cooling Lotion”
Music: Dave Brubeck Quartet “Time Out”

    What Happened:
After I got my 2 yr old to sleep for her nap, I got out my shiny new razor that I received yesterday. I did the microwave hot towel while listening to music. Lathered up and shaved from my sideburn to chin. It went well, so I did the same on the other side. I was moving so slowly that the lather began to dry a bit. I had to relather pretty much every area. Oops. The other side went well, so I did both cheeks. That went well, so I did my neck. To be fair, I have a moustache/ goatee and never shave around my mouth. I got out the twin blade to carve around the ‘stache and clean up the last bits. I didn’t want to push my luck.
When all was said and done, there was no blood and an ok shave. I removed most of what I get with one pass of a twin blade, so I am satisfied for a first shave. I know Murphy’s Law says there are cuts out there waiting for me, so I will enjoy it while I can.
Now, if you will excuse me, I’m going to smoke my pipe and have a short Scotch before the little one wakes up.

    Default First shave . . .

    Hello, Milehiscott:

Congratulations. You did everything properly: you took your time, exercised extreme care and did not push. Stay with it.

    Regards,

    Obie
