Thread: 1st time w/ a straight

Just got my Dovo back from having it honed by Lynn (thank you for your service!) and I couldn't wait to shave w/ it.

Turned on the classical music, made the lather, did the prescrub and all the required faceprep that i've been reading on here is so important.

I gotta say this: WOW! I've never experienced excitement and fear at the same time like this in my life. Just holding the blade close to my face made everything too real. I shaved the sides first and used my DE to finish the rest, then for the second go around I tried the str8 for everything but the chin. Worked better than I thought; no nicks or cuts.

Man! What an experience! Y on earth would anyone shave with anything but a single blade DE or Str8??? I am officially hooked on getting a better and better shave as times goes on.

Thank you all for your advice about sending the razor to have it professionally honed and thank you for all the articles and how-to videos. They helped turn shaving from a pain in the into a pleasure. Can't wait for my next shave.
