Thanked: 2Turning The Corner
Hello Fellow Shavers,
I have to say there were many moments when I questioned why I was putting myself through this frustrations.
I couldn't keep my razor sharp, couldn't stop cutting myself, wasn't getting good shaves.
It's been a few months now and I finally figured out how to maintain a sharp razor (still learning though)
My nicks and cuts are still fairly frequent but they are a direct result of breaking the ultimate rule of SR shaving, not taking my time and enjoying the art of the shave. When I take my time I'm rarely giving blood.
Lastly and most importantly, I am starting to get awesome shaves. I've recently graduated to ATG (limited bloodshed) and unblievably close shaves.
I am well aware that the journey has just begun and also excited that the journey has just begun. This is an awesome sport!!
Thanks to all who have put up with me thus far through the process, (you know who you are) you guys are extremely patient. I hope I can return the favor some day.
Dan
PS I'm Scared........150+ razors and developing HAD How do I stop it???

Your journey mirrors my own (except the ATG!). It's nice to know it's par for the course, and it gets better and better as the days go by...Thanks!

Thanked: 2It's not as crazy as it sounds......
I was at a flee market and met a guy that had a few razors at one of the tables. He said he had a huge collection at his home if I wanted to buy some of them. So I met up with him a couple days later. He brought out 3 boxes of just about any brand razor you can think of. I didn't even get a chance to look at them and he said.....I'll give you the collection for a hundred dollors. 153 razors
A lot of bad ones, a lot of good ones and a few really nice ones.
Some day when I feel like I have this some what figured out, I'll start learning restoration.
Just at the right place at the right time
