As I am still quite new, I understand I have a lot to learn and a lot of practice to do with the straight blade. However, I was wondering if there is a good type of blade to learn with. I have a full hollow ground Dovo that I have a hard time keeping from wanting to skip. Would those of you who know what you're doing suggest trying to learn on a more solid blade (1/2 or quarter hollow, wedge) or sticking with the one I've got?
