Sounds like all's going smoothly (bad pun here)! One way to keep your lather warm is to use a shaving bowl/mug. I have an old ceramic bowl that I fill w/ hot water and soak my brush in while showering. When I'm ready to make my lather and drain off the water, the bowl is nice and warm. Just add your cream of choice, shake your brush out, and away you go. The lather typically stays toasty warm throughout the entire shave.

I am very new but I can second what Lasoxfan said. Just soaking my brush in hot water while in the shower did wonders. Love the hot lather and found it stayed warm for quite a while. However, being new I do take my time with each pass. I saw a video that suggested leaving the bowl sitting in your rinse water and that would keep the lather warm longer but I still take to long. Two issues, one is I am slow the other is the water just gets cold. I fixed that by making a scuttle out of a soup bowl and 1 cup measure. That did keep the lather warm until I finish. The rinse water is luke warm when I finish, but the water in my scuttle is still in steam mode and the lather is very warm until the end of my shave.

    Congrats and welcome on board.

It is the best way to shave. I keep my lather hot with a candle warmer. It works great but can dry out the lather.

Right on! I'm glad there is someone close by. We just moved here from Ventura last June. Should have moved here years ago.
