Thanked: 0Places in Denver, CO to get straight razor honed
This is my second post and based on the replies to my first post I am now in need a professional in Denver, CO to hone my straight razor. Yes, to my absolute disbelief I was misinformed by the sales rep at AOS and my brand new razor DOES need to be honed prior to use. I have used it 4 times since I purchased it a little over a week ago and even though it seems to be fine I guess I will be missing out until I get it honed. So my question again, Does anyone know of any reputable places/persons in Denver CO to get my razor honed? thanks in advance.

If there is no one locally you can alway send it to Lynn here to have it honed up for you. You won't believe the difference it makes shaving with a properly honed razor. My first was the all stainless from AOS. I bled, hurt, and almost gave up until I bought a shave ready Dovo from Lynn. It was a night and day difference and it's what kept me learning and getting great shaves.

I know we have several members in the Denver area. Probably look around the forum and contact one. if you don't want to send your razor out for professional honing maybe one of these local guys can at least link up with you for some training.

Thanked: 79Lynn was good enough to recently hone two of my razors, I'd like to very much recommend his work. Turnaround time from AZ to MO was very quick!
If you do want to stay local, check out "Gentleman's Quarters" on 17th St. downtown. Got a very good shave there last year, they might be able to point you to a good source for honing.

Thanked: 0Hi -
I am also wondering if there is anyone or any place in Denver that can hone a straight razor. I got a DOVO and whether it was not shave ready or my pathetic first attempts at honing and stropping dulled it, I decided I should have someone experienced hone it, and meanwhile I can try to learn honing on old, cheap razors.
Thanks

Perhaps contact Logistics/Travis like gssixgun recommended. Otherwise, I would suggest looking at the Member Services in the classified section and sending your razor away to someone. It seems you can have a razor honed for ~$10-20.
I purchased a razor from a member here and he will re-hone as needed, three times, for only the cost of postage. I am currently working on honing other blades, but certainly nowhere near honing a razor for someone else (or one that I would use daily).
