    Default day five...or maybe six...

Today i got a shave ready razor in the mail from one of the members of this forum. It was a real treat, especially considering that, with the exception of the first day of straight shaving, i haven't touched a safety since i started. When i knocked down the edge of my dovo yesterday i thought i'd have to go back to the safety until i got my norton hone in the mail (scheduled for delivery on wed.), but it was truly a red letter day when i opened the mail. shaved beautifully and smoothly. still no major cuts or nicks and my shaves get closer everyday; they've long since surpassed anything i ever got with a safety...

thanks again for all the help!

You will find it gets better the more you do it. In fact what I used to consider a great shave when I started I'd be disappointed with today.

Glad that everything is working out so well
for you. So is shaving with a straight easier
    than you expected?

i'm sure people here will tell me i'm wrong, but, yeah. honestly, it's a lot easier than i thought it would be after all the stuff i read. i'm sure the shaves will get better, as someone here suggested, but i mean to say that getting a shave as close as i ever got with a safety razor was a snap. the challenge has been getting closer, and that's not going so bad either!

My guess is no one will say that you are wrong.
It was easier than I thought it would be as well.
Well, as time goes on, it will get even better.
Glad that it's all working out.

i will say, i would have been completely lost without the folks on this board. i think the reason it went so smoothly is because i was well prepared, and i would not have been so if not for straight razor place!
