I must say, I give you credit for having patience and learning how to prep before jumping in with the straight. I cannot say I went about it the same way, but your way is definitely right.
By the way, Badgers aren't "better" than boars, just different. I actually prefer boar to badger. I own 4 Semogue Boar brushes and two badgers.

I like spending my money on quality things and that means moving to straight shaving wont be cheap. So while I am waiting for the good 'ol IRS check i decided to practice face prep and lather building with some economy stuff.
It really has held me over.
I tell you guys, I am so happy to have you hear to listen to me babble on about lather.
The looks I get from my wife when I talk about it are hilarious.

Thanked: 227I personally find, with some soaps I prefer the lather with my badger with others my boar, my creams lather better always with my badger. a badger brush need not cost the earth so why not buy a cheapish one to start with and spend the extra on soaps
incidentally i recomend the tweezerman as a cheap badger, I have more expensive, but it is my goto.
