Thanked: 0Good first buy??
I am completely new to straight razor shaving and am looking to purchase my first razor and accessories. Does anyone have an opinion on the "Basics - Two Piece kit" available at about the middle of this webpage: Shaving Starter Kits ?
I'd love to hear advice from anyone out there on what first razor set(s) is recommended.
Thanks!

Thanked: 0thanks! i actually glossed right over those... but the complete kit does seem like the way to go. And at about $200 -- is that a reasonable price, or should I keep shopping?
Thanks again!

Try The Superior Shave as well. I have purchased from them before and they seem to reasonable and have a good selection. The Superior Shave
Good luck.

I am also new to straight shaving and purchased my first kit from straight razor designs. I got their complete kit of the month deal and could not be happier! After much searching I decided it was a good price and went for it. My razor came ready to go right out of the box and the accessories are top notch. Will definatly buy from them again.

Excellent choice, I have not bought anything from them yet but plan to do so when my war chest has built up a little. Good luck and welcome to the club.

Thanked: 0thanks everyone! you've all been a great help. looking forward to pulling the trigger on this 1st purchase, getting a real shave, and never buying (and throwing away) a multi-blade razor again.
cheers.
