Woohoo, my green holder and Personna blades arrived. They're made in USA though, I've read the ones made in Israel are much better? Sadly I didn't take the times to ask the vendor(bestgroomingtools) which one they were. Either way, let's see how these perform, been looking forward to trying the longer blade.

HColl,
That's great! I've gotten lots of shaving stuff from that vendor in the past. In fact, that was where I got my Merkur HD from when I began DE razor shaving.
Like you, I began shaving with Personna blades, then moved to Merkur. But I now prefer Wilkinson Sword (Germany). More recently, I've tried Lord Super Stainless (Egypt). Neither one is bad at all.
Get a sampler pack at some point and try a variety of blades until you find one brand that you prefer that fits your budget.
Take care--and smooth shaving.Last edited by jhenry; 03-13-2011 at 12:03 AM.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. A sampler is a good idea, but as I'm planning on moving to s proper straight I doubt I'd end up using them all, plus I have two packs of Feather DE blades. Question though, are there any other blades which will fit the green holder other than the Personna blades?
*EDIT* From looking just now I can't find any Isralei made Personna single edge 'hair shaper' blades. I'm guessing the Israeli one's are the double edge blades?Last edited by HColl; 03-12-2011 at 11:58 PM.
