J-Nat??
What is a j-nat. Is it a hone of some sort.
Does anyone have a picture they can upload, please.

J-Nat is a common abbreviation of Japanese Natural hone.
If you search on this site you will find hundreds of pictures of various hones from Japan.
They come in all kinds of shapes and grits(although grit really doesn't apply to natural hones)
Some of the more famous ones are Nakayama and Oozuku.
There are tons of others as well.
Another place to check out is the wiki.
There you'll find both descriptions and picturesBjoernar

Bingo, that is correct!!
Americans are veeery fond of acronyms and abbreviations.
There is even a page in the wiki to explain most of them
