Thanked: 1Maiden Voyage
After much study and help gained from SRP i undertook my maiden shave with my Dovo Ebenholz tonight! Taking my time and making sure i was in the zone (thanks to Sensei Kyle for the zen article) I thoroughly enjoyed myself and made it through my first shave with success! I was bloodless, until the Mrs walked in the bathroom and then concentration was broken and i got a slight nick on my chinny chin chin! (note to self- order that the bathroom be a no go zone when i got a blade in my hand! cant blame her though, if it wasnt for her i would still be using a crappy sub par, 'sheep shaver').
So i would like to put a big shout out to all at SRP! your info was priceless and much appreciated. Shame, now im looking forward to my follicles growing back so i can have another go, as they say practice makes perfect!
Peace
Ben.

You sound like me right now. "I want to shave but I need to wait for my scabs to heal!"
I look forward to seeing more of your posts!

Congrats on the first shave and welcome. I feel for you on the cut. I'm 18, live at home and mum decided to grab me mid shave and got a nice 1 inch cut just under right sideburn.

Thanked: 1First pass on first pass
Thanks you guys, good to be in the community.
Like everything else i get into, i get into it fully. I really enjoyed myself, although not confident to try the cross or up shave technique just going with the grain, i still thought that i had a great first shave. The feel of the Ebenholz was excellent, balance and weight and the wonderful sounds of the experience was a treasure.
All in all my shave took an engrossing hour, hot towel prep, lather, shave and was a magical feeling. I can start to feel my stubble returning now which convinces me that in my next few shaves i will introduce a x and up stroke just on my cheeks (until my confidence grows)
Will keep you all posted on my future endeavours, once again thanks for the comments and interest
Peace
Ben
