Thanked: 5Started doing something new - ice cube!
Well, so far I am about 25 or so shaves in and I still have my face in one piece. The more I shave, the more I like it. I miss my beard but there really is nothing like a close, close, close shave to start the day. Anyway - I have been doing a lot of experimentation trying to find the best method that works for me. I found that after shaving, if I didn't give my face a good wash (no soap) after shaving, pre-aftershave, I got little white heads. So now, after shaving I thoroughly wash my face with hot water to remove the rest of the soap, then splash with cold water. Last week after splashing my face with cold water I began to wonder what it would feel like to use even colder water...
So I went to the freezer and grabbed an ice cube. WOW! Absolutely fantastic! Rubbing an ice cube on my face was cleansing and very soothing. I feel a little silly doing this but it really is quite nice. Anyone else do this? If not, all you have to lose is an ice cube.

I haven't used an ice cube directly on my face, but I have used a towel that has been iced down in a sink before applying it to my face. The first time I experienced this was after a barber shave. It's very refreshing and a great way to close the pores.

The tap in my shave den runs very cold so I use water from that, it works great!
I've not used an ice cube though, I'll have to try it! If it works for you, keep doing it..!

i too often use ice after my rinse.. what i have found to be even more fun is soaking a washcloth in water and freezing it.. it's like an icecloth or something.. got the idea from having someone suggest i freeze washcloths to give to teething babies.

Can't say I've tried that, but I do use cool water from time-to-time. Usually just come good after-shave works perfect for me! Colonel Conk Bay Rum!
