3rd Shave today
Got through the third shave today with minimal bloodshed. Shaves are getting closer, but a problem area is the neck at about the level of the Adam's Apple. Upper neck from the chin to the AA is no problem, but I seem to be getting a fair amount of razor burn in the lower neck. I'm only shaving WTG, but making 3 passes. Any hints on improving my technique to minimize the burn?
Upper lip is a different problem - a couple of minor nicks, but it appears the hardest place to get right. That one is just going to take a LOT more practice.

Thanked: 1371Watch your blade angle, and try stretching the skin from different directions to see what works best for that area. You may find that you need to stretch it differently than you do for the part just above it.

The lower neck is a soft area with no bone support, so stretching is important with absolutely no pressure. That area is soft and sensitive so requires extra care. The upper lip is best attacked WTG and XTG, but careful ATG passes are possible. I hold the razor with both hands and attempt to stay just above the skin line. Shaving ATG here is difficult because the whiskers tend to deflect the blade down into the skin. That is why I attempt to work parallel to the skin just above the skin level. I don't worry about BBS here at all.

Angle and pressure pay attention to them? you should get very clean skin with just 2 passes in same location. Make sure blade is a good condition.gl
