My four razors, sadly unused
I picked these up long enough ago that I don't remember where they came from.
The ivory colored handle blade is a "Mighty Good, by Peter J. Mitchels, Brooklyn, NY.
The tortois shell is a Wilbert Cuttlery Co, Chicago.
The biggest meat chopper is The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor for Barber's Use, Wade & Butcher, Sheffield.
The smaller black one is The Genuine Rattler Razor for Barber's Use, Maher Grosh, Toldeo, O.
Are any worth bringing into usable condition? I see no chips, digs or nicks, and very little oxidation beyond discoloration.
I currently shave with a DE safety razor, but now I have good soaps and soon, a good brush, so I'd like to learn to use a straight. If any of these will work, so much the better...
Thanks for any advice.

Thanked: 1The one on the bottom is toast. Not worth anything except for maybe scales. The top one I can't tell from the photo. The two in the middle are nice, especially the third one. I'll trade you two shavers ready to go for that one. Let me know. Or if you want to sell it, PM me.

I guess Bill and I have the same taste in razors.

Bill, what do you do with all your W&Bs ? Grind them up and snort them ?
Sorry, couldn't resist...

Hey, 2 razors ready to go from Bill is a good trade!
One of these days I may have a nice meat chopper myself. I'm leaning more towards saving up and looking for a meat chopper than saving up for a dovo. That picture pretty much shows why

Bill gave you some good advice. If I were you, I'd hang onto both razors and just buy another one from him so you know what a shave-ready razor is like before you start honing away. We're all drooling over the W&B. Open up the top one and post a pic so we know if you have a potential 4-razor rotation (including the one you'd get from Bill)

Welcome to the SRP, I hope people here answered your question, but to be honest that Wade and Butcher stuck out like a sore thumb. That razor in particular would make a great shaver, but not for the beginner to work on. The others except for the bottom one would be good to learn on, both restoration and shaving. Bill's offer is a good one and people here will agree to that. Still you might want to consider keeping it and buying a couple of razors from Bill or some of the other members here. That way you have a shave ready razor to shave with and know what a keen razor is supposed to be like.
