Default Anyone know what type of razor this is?

    Hello,
I'm new here. My grandmother left me one thing when she passed away a few years back, an old style razor of sorts. I've been told its an old style chinese razor. I attached some photos and would love to get some feedback from any experts here. Would love to get an idea of how old and where this is from. Notice in the last photo that there is some sort of branding on the fat side of the blade, its branded with a cross. Looking forward to the replies.

I have no idea, but you might get better results by posting these pics in the "Razors" forum which is where a lot of guys post to get info on their razors.

Welcome to SRP. I don't know that I'd try to shave with that thing. I've never seen anything like it. But SRP's bound to be the place where you can find out how (if it's possible!).

    Peace,

I don't know much about these types of razors but I have seen them on TV being used by Buddhist monks to shave their heads.

I believe I have done so too.
In fact, I think it was in a Kurosawa movie I saw that thing.

I've seen similar pieces come up on ebay from time to time. No personal experience with one. Looks to me like it would be unwieldy to shave the face.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
