    Default Book?

Is there a book on the basics of straight razors. I can get lots of info on this forum but I'd like a more organized format to get information on razors. Like, I have no idea what the numbers mean (4/8, 5/8) etc. and I'd like to get an understanding of what constitutes a good razor etc. If the book also had info on stropping, honing, etc. that would be a bonus but thats info I like getting from people directly.

There is a good book on straight razor shaving written by Dr. Chris Moss and available for free download on www.shavemyface.com Unfortunately, that site has been acting up a bit lately so I am unable to give you a direct link to the book. It is more of a how to than anything on the razor itself, although it does cover those basics as well. I'll try to edit this post later with a direct link.

I actually got it from the Cached version on google. Thanks for the tip. Its really a nice write up. I'll read it in detail when I have some free time (and certainly before shaving or honing.

That download is also now available here, yes that's HERE and the book for purchase should also be linked here, but I can't seem to find it.
