Shave Number 7
Well, it has been a bit over a week and just completed shave number 7. Not the greatest shave but better then the previous ones. It just seemed that with this shave things are starting to fall into place for me. I kind of feel like I took my first step today. I have a long way to go i know.
Not much I can ask that has not been covered in recent threads. I have trouble with my neck area but with some time and practice and paying attention here should figure that out. Still deciding on which hand to use on my left side, I am right handed. I also have a second shave ready razor ready to go in case I mess up the first one.
Thanks for a great forum and great advice. Now that I feel things will get better I find myself looking forward to my next shave.

Very nice!
You are walking the path we have all walked, and you seem to be doing just fine.
In fact, with that kind of positive thinking, I'm sure you will take leaps in a rapid fashion from here on in!
well done Sir!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

How do you define DFS? I know what the abbreviation stands for, but I don't know what the criteria are for a Damn Fine Shave. Further, is a DFS better than or not as good as a CCS? I am assuming that the criterion for BBS is that the shave cannot be improved. So, when I describe a shave as DFS, what in fact am I saying?

There was a thread on this forun , about 4 years ago , concerning how manys shaves it took before one started to get the "feel" for shaving with the straight razor . The general consensus among the replies , was that it took around 6 shaves . Once you start getting the "feel" , you need to watch out for overconfidence . I learned this the hard way .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

I'd like to see a thread regarding how many shaves it took Newbies until they were getting really good shaves with a straight.
