Thanked: 0another first shave post
I just attempted my first SRS. I think the hardest part was finding a grip that was comfortable Also the way i was holding the razor or trying to stretch my skin, I ended up blocking my vision. It was definitely easier to shave the right side of my face (I'm right handed). I've never really used after shave, but I can see now how it'll cool the slight burning i have on my face. I'll definitely have to pick some up.

Congratulations! Anyone who does a first shave and lives
to post about it has been successful. Go get yourself a nice,
soothing, moisturing after shave balm (in cream form) and
do your skin a favor.

It's really hard to go wrong here. Personally, I would avoid anything with alcohol in it, like conventional aftershaves such as Old Spice. The alcohol dries out your skin, and you're trying to moisturize, not the opposite. You can find them in drug stores, products like Nivea. My favorites are found in a store called L'Occitane and go by the name 'Cade'. They also make a great shaving soap and a super shaving cream, also called 'Cade'. They are more expensive but last forever because you don't need to use much. Any damage to skin heals better when the skin is kept moist. I sometimes use the creams and balms as much as three times a day. Moist is good.

I have the same problem. I have a shaving mirror on a wall, the kind with an arm so that it can swing out from the wall, and I've noticed at some hotels they have theirs a lot lower than mine. Mine worked fine when I was using a mach iii, but then again, I really didn't use it much then. Now, I think I need to lower it.
