    Default Homemade denim strop.

Hello everyone. I'm thinking about making a denim strop because my current strop is leather only. I was thinking about taking an old pair of jeans My dog chewed a baseball sized hole in the backside of and cutting the legs as instructed in the wiki and then glueing the back onto the back on the leather strop. This way it's more ridged and it's already to hang. What do y'all think.

    Hello,

Yes it's a good idea, I use to strop on a piece taken from a pair of jeans, the results are good. I just dut it square and "clean", burt didn't used glue... It doesn't seem to make an issue. Maybe one day, I'll do it, but I don't felle the need right now.

    Have a good stropping!

Just to check - did you get best results from inside (light) or outside (dark) side of the denim.

I'm not sure one side is better than the other, but i use the inside one, it seems a little bit more efficiant (more abrasive), the outside seems more slippery... so i don't like the feeling, but this may be personnal...
