Thanked: 0New guy here
Hello everyone, I'm new to straight razor shaving, I was about to purchase a blade then started researching different sites and I stumbled upon this one. I quickly found out that I shouldn't purchase from ebay since I don't know enough to make a smart decision yet.
I need something with a cheap price but of good quality I've seen the classifieds but don't know what to look for.
I've read the guide but still don't know which blade would be a good choice. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance

It's hard to go wrong in the classifieds here. I'd recommend an average size blade, 5/8 or 6/8, shave ready of course, with a round as opposed to a square point. You don't need to spend a lot of money. At this point, you shouldn't be worried about collectibility, just shave readiness. And welcome!

Welcome to SRP
ace is dead on with the classifieds here. there are a lot of great, affordable razors. Make sure that you buy a 'shave ready' razor. Attempting to learn to shave and hone at the same time is not recommended. Don't worry about buying the perfect razor the first time. There is no such thing as a perfect razor and if you are like myself, you will soon have a small stable of razors to choose from. Read all you can here on SRP about using your straight and ask questions if you cannot find an answer to your question.

oldskool,
++1 on the previous advice concerning the SRP Classifieds and online vendors as a source for reasonably priced straight razors.
The following website may also have some relatively low-priced quality vintage straight razors for beginners--Bob Keyes. Not all of his restored razors are cheap, but enough are to make your visit to his website worthwhile.
I have purchased straight razors from him many times in the past and have always been satisfied.
