Thanked: 9watch what your razor's edge hits
I have been shaving with a straight edge for about 3 months, i have made many mistakes but i am learning and i am getting better. Well i brought my first brand new Dovo Full Hollow, my first used razor i got from Wippeddog. So i have been using it for two weeks now, and yester day, i was cleaning the shaving cream off, and i slighty knocked my razor into the sink, i would even call it a light tap, Any way i have really small, nick in the blade it still shaving in that area, but i was amazing how sensitive the edge is. So if a tap to the sink nicks for razor, what can a poor strop/hone job do to your edge

I learned to hone and shave at the same time-- so of course about 5 days in I knocked my razor into the faucet real good and had to hone out my first ding! The good thing is that you'll be ever vigilant from now on...mostly

Thanked: 17I find caution is a good thing to employ when handling sharp implements... the hardest thing that has hit my razor thus far has been the water 'round here

The first time I saw a hollow ground straight I was amazed at how thin they are. So dainty and fragile looking. I figured out pretty quick why there are so many with big bites out of them.
