Dont for get the whole important lapping of whatever hone you get!!!..... I just picked up a DMT 325 I love that thing for hone lapping totally beats the whole 325 wet/dry sandpaper bit. So now my honing set up is the DMT325, Norton 1000, Norton 4000, Norton 8000 and Naniwa 12,000. I have to say the 4000 and 8000 did great buuuut HAD took over and I can see it will only get worse

Thanked: 2That sounds like a good offer. I inherited a sr and happened to have all the honing equipment I needed already. I still found it advantageous to get a used shave ready razor from a reputable seller to give me an idea of what shave ready really means. I got a good deal on the razor or else I would have just sent mine out for honing.
I got in pretty cheap because I already had the honing stones and a flattening stone. I did purchase a strop. The Norton stones are good stones, but like other water stones, you do have to keep them flat.
