Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your first SR shave, many more great shaves to you sir! You started out just like me, I took up SR shaving just to get into the tight areas around my beard and underneath my jaw and my neck, then one thing led to another now it's 100% SR shaving. No more disposables or canned gels for me!

HI!! Welcome mate!!
I started shaving in the evenings because of the ritual of standing at the sink. I still jump in the shower in the mornings, but shower and shave again before bed. I sleep better, no kidding.
Oh, I am 53 and just started a few months ago. What is it, you hit that over 40 age and decide there has to be a better shave out there?? I know that's what happened to me. I was plain sick of shaving, so I only did it every few days, maybe twice a week. Ihad always wanted to do the straights, since I was a teen. It just never happened.
Now I'm a razor addict. I wish my beard would grow twice as fast, so I could shave more often. I love the ritual of shaving after a shower. I spend like 45 relaxing minutes in the bathroom showering, prepping, shaving, post shave and razor care. Usually followed by more post shave care, cuz I burn myself a lot trying to get that 'extra' close shave. My technique still sucks, but I think I'm getting more skilled. I still nick my left side a lot, but my razors have been honed by the best and are really recently honed, and cared for fanatically. The strop is now my friend, when it was an adversary before. I guess that's progress..
Anyway, great job!! If your like me, the quest will be to lose the cartridge and gel permanently..
Good luck!-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --
