    Default Honing in London, Ontario??

This is going to be a long shot, but I've just taken the plunge and ordered my first straight razor from Fendrihan, and am intimidated by the prospects of having to hone my blade for the first time. Does any of the local (London, Ontario or nearby) members know of anyone in/or around the city that is a reputable honer?

    Cheers,
    Cutty.

BTW, here's the blade I ordered.

It's a bit of a drive, but there are some great folks in the Toronto area. We just had a meet lastweekend. If you look at the Get Togethers section (It's a subsection of General, I think), you can cruise the thread and find some names.

I believe that razors is shave ready as I know of the person who sharpens for Fendrihan. I have a Amco from him and it is a great edge on it.

@holli4pirating: Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to wander over and take a look!

@dyimages: I've been told that the razors coming from Fendrihan are honed beautifully, but I've also read on some websites that you should have an internet-ordered blade honed and stroped before the first shave. Plus, I'm not sure how many shaves I would get out of a straight razor before needing to hone the blade, so I figure it's best to start looking for a honer sooner rather than later. Thanks for the compliment on my purchase! Being a rookie, I feel like a lot of what I'm doing is very much a "trial and error" thing.

    Cheers,
    Cutty.

Fendrihan's shave ready actually are. It's the ones that say "Shave ready from the factory" that are not actually shave ready.
