One SRP member shaves his head with a straight. Forgot who it is, but you should find the thread if you search the archives. He says it's very easy.

Edit: easy --> shaving large, relatively flat surfaces.

So what you're saying is it's easy as long as you've got a huge flat melon perched on top of your neck?

Ok, I'm good to go then I guess... Oh, but wait, I don't need to shave my head, nature took care of that for me!

What I meant is that you'd have to have a REAL knobby head to make it more difficult to shave than your average adams apple, chin and jawline. We have one member who does THOSE without even seeing, so I really don't see any problems with doing the head with a straight, other than having to touch up the blade more often.

That's true. I guess if you're used to shaving your head anyway, a str8 might not present that great a difficulty. Not something I wanna try, though. Hell, it might not grow back, and with my head, I'd look like a roll-on.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately my melon isn't like Frankenstein but I'm blessed with a big smooth oval. When I shave it people think I've oiled and buffed it. I've been shaving it for so long I do go by feel. The thought of a SE on it does scare me a little. Oh and as far as the search feature goes I don't have much luck with it. Very frustrating. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I guess that's a different thread.

All it basically says is that the guy tried it and found it very easy. You may want to try just doing the sides and the top before working on the back as well.. Another suggestion would be to lather and shave in sections. I am not too sure about this stuff because the last time I shaved my head was when Iwas like 15, so it's been a bit over a decade.

Well, if you do shave your head with the straight, make sure you post the results. I have been contemplating doing that to my head for some time, but I guess I don't have the balls.

I bought a couple of razors from Classic Shaving and had them sent to Lynn for honing. When they arrive I have to practice on my face first. When I do shave my head I'll be more worried about shaving with a SE around the ears. I'll take any tips I can get on that. I'll keep you updated.
