That was precisely my point in starting this thread is to let fellow beginners know they don't have to spend as much as I did.

Glad to hear Machiavelli acknowledging his mistake.
It is very common for a beginner. The salesman turned your excitement to money.
However, before spending 400$, he should have known and informed you about all these matters that SRD did, instead of caring only for selling to you his products.
For these reasons I will consider your experience proof of low level customer service, and I will avoid buying from them, even through web.

Once again thank you for sharing.

My initial experience was similar when I wanted to buy my first razor. Me and internet shopping do not work out 100%, I am impulsive and when I want to buy something i kind of want it then. Not a week or two later. So I had contacted a Toronto web vendor and asked if they allowed local pick-up as I was going to be in Toronto for 4 days for my daughters Hockey Championships. They said they did and asked what I was after. I explained i wanted to striaght shave and would need everything from brush to razor....Total Bill just shy of 400.00. I wanted to change the razor from the Timor they were selling ot a McPherson Bros. which buymped price by 30.00 so now it was 400.00. So i agreed and asked when and where to meet them, did not get a reply from them from friday afternoon untill Sunday around lunch, after we were checked out of our hotel and on the hwy home i get an email saying okay meet them between 3:50pm and 4:00pm at a intersaction in Toronto. I was finally like no, you know what for 400.00 I do not care if your a home business starting up you can at least give me your address or meet me in a coffee shop, not standing on the street somewhere near your condo. as well the fact I had not gotten a confirmation email for 24+ hours untill I was an hour outside of Toronto saved me a boat load of cash

That day when I got home I found SRP and learned that I could try Straight shaving for far less that the 400 bones I was about to drop. So it is common for beginners to get caught up and buy way over the needs
