    Hello. Welcome to the world of straight razor.
    Your problem:
    1. probably not sharp razor (check on HHT)
    2. enough experience
    Necessary to prepare the skin. Experiment with hot or cold water.
    Acquiring a good soap and aftershave.
    And most importantly - do not despair.
