Thanked: 485Broke the 15 Minute Barrier Today!
I broke the 15 minute barrier this morning , including mixing the cream, stropping, etc. A great improvement I think from an hour when I started two weeks' ago. A week ago I was saying I'd shave at night because I didn't have time in the morning, and now already it's achievable. I'm starting to get the hang of this and would find it hard to go back to the boring way before....

That is some fine progress indeed.
Now, remember to not focus too much on speed.
Enjoyment and relaxation is also an important aspect of wet shaving
Good jobBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Good on ya mate! Don't even think about "going back". Congrats!
My personal "goal" is this: http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...nt-shaves.html
Fast is one thing, perfect is another. Take your time.

I'm new but I'm thinking the same thing. When I first saw the title I figured you intended to take over 15 min to just fart around and relax with it.

IMHO, I much prefer taking my time. If I wanted fast I would use my electric or mach 3. This is about the "me" time and enjoying it. (Kind of like my time with SWMBO!!!) I live by the axium, do I want a good job or a fast job, I can't have both...

Thanked: 20Congrats
I need to actually time myself. I have no clue how much time I take. I still think my wife takes longer. Seems like she's in there forever just to put on some mascara.

I get a really good shave in under 6 minutes. I've found that shaving quickly has helped me consolidate my technique improvement. There are times when I intentionally take my time. But now that I can get a good shave quickly, I no longer have to resort to a DE when I have to get it done quickly and get to work.

Thanked: 485Yes, I agree entirely, but I didn't want the time factor to get in the way of the method. I have just changed jobs, so I'm planning when to get up in the morning for an 08:30 start. An hour shaving is nice and relaxing, but I don't really want to be getting up at 6 o'clock in the middle of winter so I can shave for an hour; I reckon it might get onerous. It's good to know I can do it in 15 (12 today, actually). And the speed doesn't sacrifice quality; so the speed (which isn't quick, I don't want to be quick) actually demonstrates improved technique and planning. It's good to remind oneself to slow down, though, I don't want it to become a 'drill'...
