Default the importance of streching your skin

I have seen many videos of people using there hands to stretch there skin. Does the help prevent cuts and irritation. Why is this so important. I have been shaving with my cut throat for a while know, and i always opened my mouth to, but this is different. I am willing to compltly change my razor use if i understand that stretching is good

Stretching the skin is an important aspect of shaving. It really doesn't matter how you do it, either with your fingers or making funny contorted faces in the mirror.

When you hair grows, after the first day or so it naturally begins to curve. When you pull the skin behind the spine of the razor, you are actually getting the hair to stand up a little, allowing the razor to make a cleaner, closer cut. When you make multiple passes, and you do this from multiple directions, you are standing the hair up from multiple angles, helping to get a bit of a closer shave.

Pull on your WTG pass first, and you may see a bit of a difference in your closeness.

Stretching is a great way to improve the quality of your shaves.

It flattens the skin, allowing the razor to travel more evenly over your skin.
It raises the stubbles, making the cut cleaner, and the angle of attack on each stubble better.
It tauts your skin, making you less susceptible to catching folds of skin, thus avoiding cuts.

And with all the above, you get a closer and more comfortable shave.

All in all, stretching is a good thing

There is no need to exaggerate though, a light stretch is all it takes.

If you enjoy cutting your face, then stretching is a waste of time.
