Thanked: 1First shave with a razor I sharpened
Decided I wanted another SR (early stage RAD???) Went down to a local antique mall and found a case full of vintage razors. After looking at every one in the case, I found a 4/8-5/8 Genco Henry's in good shape with a good edge and a better price,
Came home, spent about 2 hrs working it on my barber's hone, newspaper and my strop. After I got it sharp, I couldn't wait to to test drive it. Nice, smooth shave, not BBS, but no razor burn, no nicks and a nice post shave feel.
I also have a Norton 1k/4k, Nagura stone and Norton Flattening stone on the way. For future sharpening endeavors.
