    Also....I don't know what I'm doing yet, can someone tell me what the market value for this razor should be if it were brand new? I'm not going to sell it! IT'S MINE! lol but I just want to know what this bad buy cost when it was fresh out the box and on some shelf.

    RAD = razor acquisition disorder
    It's the growing psychological need to acquire additional razors.
    Concerning value of your new purchase..... I haven't a clue

    I have a 4k/8k Morton to hone myself. Do I need more? I've been thinking lately about getting a 1k stone.....to set straights myself....but I would hate to pretend like I know what I'm doing :/

So I come downstairs all freshly shaven and she was impressed (I've been getting progressively better) and I did my best to convince her I need that second razor and blah blah blah......she was dubious though so I chickened out and didn't tell her yet.....lol. oops. I'M SO EXCITED. LOL
    The Herm is a beautiful razor. You should enjoy it for many years to come. I looked at it several times and came oh so close. Thanks for saving me.

    Don't worry about RAD. It hits us all. I started in December with one razor and I now have 28 AND I USE EVERYONE OF THEM. I am fortunate to have a very understanding wife. Her only questions are (1) "Will you use it?" and (2) "Will you enjoy it?".

    Nice looking razor with an interesting spike point. I think two must be the minimum number to allow for honing and a 'Sunday' razor, one for Sundays and special occasions. I have thought of the 7 razor scenario, though..

    I've thought of it too a lot. I think.....3 straight are probably more than enough, for that matter maybe just 2 but.......It's just so Damn hard not to buy more! lol, I've actually looked into a seven day case.....and I hate what is out there. I decided to make my own and I already have the design drawn up. Mine will include two or three smaller pockets at the end of the seven days (all lined up straight so it still rolls up perfectly) for individual cartridges. For emergencies. No matter how much we would like to pretend, it would be nice to have at least one on hand at all times for emergencies.

    The 4/8k should be enough to get a decent edge, alot of people use just that. That is the stone I use (I'm still learning to hone though so my edges suck lol) I do also have a 1k for setting the bevel and CrOxide spray on felt as a "finisher". I takes practice.

    I'm going to do my best to get my straight HHT Sharp on all sides, top, middle, bottom. So you think I can do that with the 4k/8k?

    Also the roll up case I will be making will be a cotton wool combo. But no need to get into it, I'll post pictures when ever I'm done and wveryone will be jealous ;D
