    From what you are saying that i can see is you are using all fabrics and no leather. The leather is the most important part of the process. you always strop on leather before you shave after whatever fabrics you want to use. The leather is key. dont worry so much about the fabrics and work on the leather.

    This is true. I haven't used leather up until just now. I used my hand to heat the strop up then flattened it out. I'll probably have to use a bottle to roll it out but i was able to strop my razor and have a shave. So things are looking up!
