When other people screw up and it affects me, I don't seem to get too mad. Just be Christian, forgive and move on. But when I screw up I get heated Yes, as the emoticon suggests I have knocked my head on a wall before as well as my fists. I have busted up my knuckles, damaged bones in my hand, knocked myself out,and finally learned a lesson when knocking out my own tooth - that was expensive to repair...

Well, after lurking and reading and budgeting and saving and practicing and shaving with a shavette for a while, I purchased three shave-ready, pre-stropped razors from members on this site. The shavette let me know what was sharp (DE blades can be pretty dull) and worked on my technique. I bought three W&B: a full hollow with smile 13/16, a 1/2 hollow 13/16, and a near wedge 7/8 with a slight smile. The near wedge worked best but after several shaves, I wanted to perfect my technique and edge. Even after several passes on a tricky spot, sometimes the hair will still make the scraping sound and be a little rough. Until I found out that I needed the spine on my face. The razor sticks to my face and I need to use pressure to get it to move, but the hairs started wiping off my face. It helped after I touched up the edge on 0.5 micron CrOX on balsa. Sunday night was the best and fastest shave with little to no irritation I have had. This came from my 7/8 W&B near wedge (my favorite of my three). Well, time to try the 1/2 hollow. As I was taking it out of the medicine cabinet, my near wedge fell to the sink. And the scales are a bit loose when the blade is near closed. So, my favorite razor now has some minor dings in the edge

I guess I need to find an intermediate storage solution instead of my medicine cabinet. Instead of looking for near perfect solution, I just need to buck up and put my razors some place else less convenient with less potential for accidents. I still need to keep them high enough out of the way from my 5 year old and my 3 year old.

Well, I will be spending money on re-honing with a lucky vendor here at SRP and in the process dialing in my other two razors. Good thing I bought more than 1. Well, thanks for reading my rant. It will be hard to justify spending the same money on honing when I see so many beautiful razors for the same price

Have a great day all y'all
