Question New guy looking for advice...

Hi I am new here I am looking for a razor and my budget is $150ish for just the razor and I would prefer a new razor that is shave ready. I know I need a strop, but I don't want to spend more then $60 on that...any suggestions are welcomed! Finally, I am in the Anchorage, Alaska area currently, but I will be moving to the humid area of Savannah, Georgia...what protection do I need for my razor?

Thanks and I look forward to your advice!

My advice. Don't buy a new razor, you can get more for your money buying used. Also, no modern razor vendors are making 1/4 and 1/2 hollows in that price range, which is what I would start with. I would look at something like this....special stiff beard 6/8 1/4 hollow ground - Straight Razor Place Classifieds or this http://straightrazorpalace.com/class...2-hollow&cat=3
As for a strop, buy a cheap one because you will nick it up and use it as a pasted strop later.

And if you stick with this, the $150 dollar razor budget with expand dramatically. Trust me!
