Robert,
There are some beautiful razors available on e-bay, however, most will require substantial restoration before they are ready to shave. The Wonderedge you are looking at will likely sell in the neighborhood of $200 if recent experience is any indication...after that it will still need to be honed before it is shave ready.
As far a purchasing new...most of these require honing prior to use as well. My suggestion is to start with a shave ready razor from one of the members here on SRP, check out the buy/sell/trade forum. If one of the members here says it's shave ready, it almost assuredly is (otherwise they'd receive a load of grief that they'd never live down ).
Anyway, good luck and keep posting questions. We're here to help.

Robert,
Welcome to the forum.
I agree with ForestryProf on buying a razor from ebay.
Do check out this razor from the Buy/Sell/Trade

Or checkout the web site of this guy...

Look for Red Robin 5/8 for sale.
As far as what size? I would say for your first razor
either a 5/8 or 6/8.

I agree with Terry 5/8 or 6/8 is a good size to start with.
