Thanked: 4The story that I heard was that two people at Kodak were testing the optical properties of some materials. To do this they put the material between two pieces of glass. Anyway, when they finished their test they couldn't get the pieces of glass apart. Someone figured out that this could make a good adhesive and Eastman 910 (the first cyanoacrylate glue) was born. As they say, the rest is history.

Thanked: 0Having previously worked in a tool and die shop, I've used super glue on many cuts and can vouch for its effectiveness. It helps if you can try to push the slice closed as well as you can before dropping any glue on it. I'm not sure I'd use it on my face though, but I guess I haven't cut myself that badly yet while shaving . Sure, I've only actually used my straight razor 3 times at this point, but I'm not planning slicing anything any time soon either. A small nick the chin, and once on the finger are my wounds so far, and hopefully that's lesson enough to pay attention to the sharp thing at all times.
