The other thing that you need to keep in mind is the level of control that you have with a hanging strop. I have a few razors that benefit greatly from a slightly slackened strop-- if I had a paddle strop, I would not be able to do this. Also, with a typical leather and linen combined strop you can have the plain leather, CrOX on the back of that, plain linen, then diamond paste on the reverse of that-- just as much versatility as a four sided paddle. But that's just my opinion... I have been wrong once before.
