    Default First shave today

A few days ago i got the Royal shave at "Art of shave" including a lot of helpful tips so today came my first shave on my own.

Result was: I shaved my cheeks (except around a small mole i have, that was done with the "good" old gilette) and no nicks at all, then i did the rest of my shave with the gilette and actually nicked myself with that

What can i say, i really like the Dovo best quality i got me, and today tried the "Geo F Trumper" soap i got and really liked it, can't fell the difference from the art of shave soap, but it smelled amazing, still need the get better at making good lather.

I can actually feel the difference between the gilette and the straight razor results, even when i only did with the grain shave.

Good start, Bluesy! You got a head start with the tips from a pro; most of us stumbled in with nothing but the desire.

I don't know if you were reading threads a few weeks ago when a few yuks were had over a guy selling a deeply nicked blade on E-bay. He claimed it was designed that way, for trimming around moles.

There have been a few threads about shaving and moles; just type "mole" into the Google search box at the upper right. It's doable.

Welcome to the brotherhood, and happy shaves!

Congrats Bluesy! Feels great huh! I'm only a couple of weeks in but I will never go back. Making lather looks easy in the vids but it really takes practice. Many happy shaves to come I hope-cheers!
