    Default First Half Shave

I got my razor in the mail this morning...Thank you Brian, it looks amazing

I finally plucked up the courage a couple of hours later to give it a go.

Remembering what I read, I lathered up well, dried my hands and got to it. I must say, I am very pleasantly surprised. First, the good news, there was no loss of blood at all. not even a nick. Mind you, I did like I was supposed to and only shaved the left side of my face (I'm left handed)

The portion from sideburn to jaw line went so well that I decided to try the neck. Some careful skin stretching and slow deliberate, light strokes got me through it.

Now, there was a bit of fine stubble left in the small area right below my ear at the very back of my jaw, but overall I got a nice shave. Not baby smooth, but still more than presentable.

I did the right side with my regular cartridge razor so I could compare.

Right after I washed my face I could already feel the difference. The left side that I used the straight on definitely had no irritation. I can't remember the last time I felt absolutely no irritation after shaving, and I've been shaving for just about 40 years.

I'm looking forward to progressing and getting that nice feeling on my entire face after shaving.

I should have done this years ago.

Hello, Joe: Go about this methodically and carefully. Forget BBS; rather, do the best you can. For the next week or so shave with the grain only. One pass is enough. Later do two passes. Eventually try across the grain. This ritual take time to learn, but it's time well spent.
