I relate...if I have spent over $1000 getting started what hope is there for me further down the track? I have already eyed up some razors I want once I become proficient

Think of all the money you'll save not having to by cartridges ....

Another razor is a good idea. So is getting the one you have pro honed. At least until you decide whether you want to learn to maintain your own rotation.
