Default Any thoughts on how these brands compare?

Any thoughts on Dovo Vs Thiers Issard? I also came across Heart steel which appeals to me because its American made.

they all shave well, the difference is preference for looks, grinds etc.

I'm a fan of TI's (and Grelot's) razors and how they shave (have 2 or 3) but then they were mostly made with sheffield steel. Dovo's are just as well made, and shave just as well but differently. I can't comment on Hart but have heard favourable things about them, comparable with the 2 classics. Can't go wrong with any of them really.

    All three brands are excellent.
    I have:
5/8 Dovo "en vogue" Black Micarta (very thick scales)
    5/8 Dovo Prima Klang
    6/8 Thiers-Issard Le Grelot
6/8 Hart Steel (round, polished, with jimps)
    6/8 Hart Steel (satin)

I like all five of these razors. On a personal level, I like the Thiers-Issard and Hart Steel the best. I especially liked buying American. I suggest you buy the one that appeals to you most. The Thiers is half to full hollow while the Hart is quarter ground.

    Good luck on your search.

    Happy Shaving!

Which is better Ford or Chevy,Toyota or Nissan,Colt or S&W? They all have their fans and the same with razors. From a shaving point of view both will last longer than you and give you equally good shaves. Buy what you like for the price you like.

True enough ...Im Chevy ,Nissan ,Colt by the way. Before I make a purchase like this I like to have an Idea of others opinions on and experiences with each . It can often give insight as far as what to look for and/or expect. Not necessarily making a decision based on those insights rather helping me make an informed first choice. What is your blade of choice ?

I'm a total noob, but I am thoroughly impressed by the TI that just showed up in the mail. It really is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
