First off a HUGE thanks for this place being here, and that informative Wiki, as well as Glenn's honing techniques. (Gssixgun). Prior to today I've been shaving with razors restored by Glenn, and will still be sendng him some choice projects as he does great work. Tonight, after consulting the Wiki, and Glenn's and Lynn's expertise on honing I shaved with nary a cut with a few razors I honed myself.

I feel great....I think they suggest shaving for awhile with shave ready razors to begin with, but there's nothing like honing and stropping your own blade.

THe razors I put to the test tonight were a 7/8th Wade and Butcher Wedge for Barber's use. After giving it a 'unpinned' restoration with neatsfoot oil, and a wet sanding progression on the blade, it was quite tricky to get the Bevel set, till I followed Glenn's approach for honing razors with a smile, this one has the slightest smile due to hone wear, but it did the trick. The other was a badly pitted Boker Red Injun 101 round point, the blade was a piece of cake to hone up.....why I never really tried this long ago I'll never know, but I'm more hooked to this than ever. Of the two I got the best shave with the heavy weight W&B, I guess it's just easier for me to hold, despite having no jimps on the tang.

I do know that over the past two or three years, I have many more people un-named here that needs a genuine thank you.
