I'm a bit embarrassed to post this however, as a new straight razor shaver I purchased a couple of razors from ebay. One in particular is a George Wostenholm and it appears to be a 1/2 hollow blade although I'm not sure. I've tried to hone this at least 5 times using a 1k king, 4 and 8 k norton and some finishing with a 12k naniwa. It passes some of the tests. The HHT and the TNT. I've been successful sharpening knives so I think I know what I'm doing as far as knives go, and also am immatating some of the vids on straight razor place. When I shave the blade seems to glide over my face seemingly hardly removing any hair. From past experience with knives I'm thinking there was too much metal removed in the past cause the spine seems fairly flat on the sides. So the edge maybe on too thick of metal for it to shave. Is that possible?
