Head shaving tips
Hello gents, I've been wet shaving for a while but have run into an area I am unfamiliar with. For our annual halloween PT (we run through greek town ,as a battalion, and wake the frats up with cadences) I am shaving my head as part of my costume. normally I have my hair cut as short as I can with clippers but will be shaving it bald with a DE. So my question is, Have any tip specific to head shaving. Thanks for your help.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

have someone else do the back. Also be careful not to let the blade slip sideways and cut your scalp.

the head is much easier to shave than the face. I shave my head with a DE and you should be able to get your entire head bbs in two passes with no skin stretching necessary. It helps if your hair is buzzed short before you take it down to the skin.

Indeed the head is much easier but you have to use a mirror to do the back or let someone else do it like TwistedOak wrote. I use a Feather straight (with replaceable blades) or a normal straight but a DE should work just as easily. And if you cut yourself it's halloween ;-)

yes, use a mirror for the first pass to get the majority of the hair. Then go by hand for the touch up, but for god's sake don't clip a mole: http://straightrazorpalace.com/gener...watch-out.html

If you want a str8 head shave, begin first with the top of your head. If that is comfortable, then bend your head forward so your chin touches your chest.
Then is the back of your head easy.look out on the side of your head so you not hit your ear.
And If you still dare than ATG For the BBS head.
have fun

Thanked: 1587Unless you are used to looking into a mirror image of a mirror image, I would not recommend using two mirrors to do the back of your head. Just be careful, keep the razor moving perpendicular to the handle, and you should be good. It's a DE after all, so really there's no major issue apart from leaving behind tufts IMO.
