Question Looks cool, but is it any good?

I am looking for a first-razor for my boyfriend and I stumbled across this one: COLLECTIVE HAND MADE DAMASCUS STEEL STRAIGHT RAZORS WITH FREE REAL LEATHER CASE | eBay It looks absolutely amazing but I'm worried that it might be just a dressed-up crappy blade. Any idea if this razor is worth the price tag? All advice is very appreciated.

I'd go with its a piece of junk, its best to get him a razor from a reputable site: classicshaving.com, straightrazordesign.com, or even right here in the classifieds section. Look for something that comes shave ready.

    Hope that helps

I deffinately agree with HigherFasterNow, just get something from the classifides or from straight razor designs.
Does your other half have brush/strop/soap? maybe look at getting a set rather than just the razor?

He doesn't have any of that.. I like the idea of just buying a whole set of everything at once, but there really don't seem to be many options for that. Unless, of course, I'm just looking in the wrong place. I read the information for beginners on this website and found some of those things on their own for very decent prices, so I think I'll stick with buying them separate.
