I have now been straight razor shaving for about three months, and have started to notice the difference between shaves from different razors. I have a couple of new prefessionally honed razors and some ebay razors which I have honed. I definately know what a wedge is, but am having difficulty in knowing what a 1/4 hollow, 1/2 hollow, full hollow, etc. How does one distinguish the difference from the appearance of each razor. Recently got a Torrey and honed it myself. There is a 962 etched in the blade with faux ivory scales. This morning I shaved with it, and must say it was my most comfortable shave yet. I'd be curious to know what type of blade it is...or how can I tell if it's a half hollow or 3/4 hollow???
